UAS Academic Associate / Post-Doc


Mission and Scope of Activities

Lead our research contribution to the SWICE project in collaboration with various internal and external laboratories (such as ETHZ, EPFL, UNIL, etc.). You will develop a decision support system to derive optimal transformation measures to achieve carbon neutrality in the built environment. You will work at the building level and scale up the measures at the building stock level to quantify their carbon mitigation potentials.

  • Participate in the acquisition of additional funding, related to the research group
  • Contribute to the other Lab projects in the field of sustainable construction and low carbon buildings
  • Contribute to the dissemination of our research activities through publications in academic journals, presentations at international conferences and teaching activities

Your profile

  • PhD in civil or environmental engineering, architecture, or a closely-related discipline
  • Profound knowledge in Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) of buildings in the European and Swiss normative context (EN 15978, SIA2032…)
  • Strong programming and data analysis skills
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research
  • First experience in the Swiss building and construction sector
  • Record of academic publications and presentations
  • Excellent scientific oral and written skills in English
  • Working knowledge in French and German


Additional information

  • 1 year fixed-term employment contract, renewable
  • Activity rate: 80 to 100%
