• Obiettivi

  To master the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing at (pre)intermediate level, or even advanced, according to the learners' admission levels and grouping (streaming/tracking).At the end of the module students should be able to:

  • communicate effectively on general topics, both orally and written;
  • demonstrate a working knowledge of English in a wide range of situations and topic areas.

  Emphasis is placed on all four language skill development areas, with a balance of language structure (grammar) and practical usage. More precisely:

  • enlarging and acquiring everyday vocabulary (Threshold level) as well as idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms;
  • practising oral skills (listening and speaking) through systematic training and meaningful activities (such as tape listening, conversations, role playing, presentations, etc.)
  • practising written skills for the industrial world (reading general and scientific/vocational texts, writing compositions, letters...)
  • general approach to lifestyles and cultures of the English-speaking world.

  Focus is on authentic material (wide range of accents, unrestricted vocabulary and natural speech, etc.) and teamwork.

• prove in itinere prove scritte, presentazioni, Important: présence obligatoire à au moins 80% des cours, sinon la note du cours n'est pas attribuée (même si tous les travaux notés ont été réussis!) avec comme conséquence échec du module concerné. Le niveau du cours (ou l'éventuelle dispense) sont clarifiés la première semaine de cours selon les indications des enseignant-e-s concerné-e-s.
