International Summer School - Hydrogen, a Versatile, CO₂-Free Mobility Solution
29 June – 3 July 2026
The “Hydrogen, a Versatile, CO₂-Free Mobility Solution” International Summer School is part of a strategic initiative to position the canton of Fribourg as a hub for innovation and expertise across the entire hydrogen value chain. It is specifically designed for Bachelor’s students (in electrical or mechanical engineering) and Master’s students (in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or energy and environmental studies). Led by speakers from Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, the summer school offers participants a combination of lectures, site visits, and hands-on activities.
This summer school is part of the Swiss Hydrogen Week, a national week dedicated to hydrogen, innovation, and the energy challenges of the future. Supported by a particularly strong ecosystem in Fribourg, the event aims to accelerate recognition of hydrogen as a key pillar of Switzerland’s future energy mix and to strengthen dialogue between industry, research, and policymakers. It builds on the European Interreg GreenSKHy project, which seeks to develop skills, raise awareness, and foster regional ecosystems around hydrogen.
