In order to offer a cutting-edge programme, HES-SO established a new academic collaboration with the University of Bologna.

The HES-SO Master's programme in Life Sciences, major in Chemical Development and Production will offer, starting autumn semester 2027, a double-degree with the University of Bologna’s Low carbon technologies and sustainable chemistry Master's programme.

Students will beneficiate from a training in chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as necessary knowledge to develop low environmental impact technologies through the design and synthesis of innovative chemical products and materials.

This double-degree offers an excellent opportunity to live an international learning experience focused on green chemistry for sustainability and the promotion of a circular economy. Students complete their first year at HEIA-FR and spend their second year at the University of Bologna

Students will receive both the HES-SO Master in Life Sciences diploma (90 ECTS) and the Laurea Magistrale in Low Carbon Technologies and Sustainable Chemistry from the University of Bologna (120 ECTS).
