Optimized Recycled Concrete mix design by Artificial intelligence image processing of DEMOlition waste

The project aims to advance the use of recycled aggregate in conventional concrete, developing the methodological basis for an image-based machine learning approach to overcome concrete performance uncertainty when smaller-size natural aggregates are replaced by recycled materials. Efficient anticipation of cost- and environment-effective mix design adjustments shall be enabled by training image processing networks to predict concrete performance from standardized images of smaller-size recycled aggregates.
