Key outcomes of the Driftwood at spillways project presented to the public

Loïc Bénet, scientific assistant at HEIA-FR, presented the key outcomes of the Driftwood at spillways project to the public at two events. First, in the frame of a short conference at the symposium on Management of driftwood on watercourses organized by the Swiss Association for Water Management (SWV) on January 21, 2020 with more than 270 participants, and second as a poster at the EPFL Swiss Federal Offices Day on February 13, 2020.

The initial works related to the project were conducted by Loïc Bénet as a part of his Bachelor Thesis at HEIA-FR. For the latter, he received the Best of Bachelor distinction awarded by the Professional Association of Civil Engineering, which brings together all the civil engineering schools of the Swiss Universities of applied sciences. He also received the François Lancoud distinction given by the Association Romande pour la Protection de l'Environnement (ARPEA).

The project is funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) and is carried out under the responsibility of Prof. Michael Pfister from the HEIA-FR iTEC institute, jointly with the PL-LCH of EPFL, represented by its operational director, Dr. Giovanni De Cesare.
