• Angestrebte Kompetenzen und Lernziele

  Basically, same objectives as stated for English 1, but more specifically, at the end of this course, students should be able to

  • read general and specialised (vocationally oriented) texts
  • give formal presentations and hold discussions in front of an audience
  • use the specific vocabulary and relevant information for studying abroad (project, diploma work, Master, etc.), not only in English-speaking countries, but also in any Swiss or foreign academic place where English is required for the application procedure and studies
• Kursinhalte

  Continuation and development of all activities defined in course English 1, but in addition

  • business English knowledge, such as writing appropriate application (cover) letters and CVs (résumés), according not only to normal writing practice in the USA and UK, but also to Swiss and international regulations (both academic and corporate)

• Schlussprüfung Lernkontrolle Berichte, Vorträge, Wichtig: Anwesenheit obligatorisch in mindestens 80% der Kurse, sonst wird die Kursnote nicht vergeben und damit das betreffende Modul nicht bestanden.
